Huntsville Symphony

Decades ago, when Wernher Von Braun and his team of German rocket scientists arrived in Huntsville, they brought with them a love of classical music. Soon afterwards the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra was founded; it is Alabama's oldest continuously operating professional orchestra. Each year conductor Tavvo Virkhous leads the symphony in a six-concert classical series, three pops concerts, two holiday concerts, and a performance geared toward children. All concerts are held at the Von Braun Center.
